General Guidelines for Online Form Fill-up for Admission into the B.Ed. Course

(Academic Session: 2018-2020)

Duration of Course: 2 Years regular course

  • Total Number of intake Capacity = 50 Students (1 Basic Unit)
  • For Deputed candidates = 25 Seats (if Deputed seats remain vacant, it will be converted to Fresher seats with prior approval from the parent University)

Note: Reservation of seats for ‘Govt. Deputed’ (serving Govt. schools of West Bengal) will be maintained as per W.B. Govt. Rules. However the Teachers serving Govt. schools of West Bengal will have to follow all mandatory instructions of online admission procedure within the stipulated date and time. T here will be no Categorical (SC/ST/PH) reservation for Govt. Deputed and they will be treated as ‘General’ category.

  • For Fresher candidates = 25 Seats

Note: Before going to fill-up online Form, applicants are advised to read carefully the guidelines and instructions given bellow:

Important Dates related to B.Ed. Admission, 2018:

  • Online form fill up will be continued on and from 2nd May, 2018 to 23rd May, 2018.
  • Publication of 1st Merit list – 28th May, 2018 (At college website & college Notice Board)
  • Counselling and Admission for Deputed Candidates from first Merit list – 7th June, 2018 (date has been revised due to B.Ed. Examination, 2018)

(Reporting time: 11 a.m. To 12.15 p.m.)

  • Counselling and Admission for Fresher Candidates from first Merit list - 7th June, 2018.

(Reporting time: 11a.m. To 12.15 p.m.)

  • Publication of 2nd Merit list (if any) (both deputed and fresher) - 13th June, 2018.

  • Counselling and Admission from 2nd Merit list (if any) (both deputed and fresher) - 18th June, 2018. (Reporting time: 11a.m. To 12.15 p.m.)

Note: All dates & times may be changed due to specific reasons and unavoidable circumstances. (Keep continuousvigil to the college website for getting the update information)


Eligibility: As per NCTE regulation, 2014 and Rules of The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training Education Planning and Administration & Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal, candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences / Humanity or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC, ST & PH. The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/PWD and other categories shall be as per Rules of the State Government and parent University.

*Applicants should have valid degree (UG/PG) from any UGC recognized university of India or abroad.

Age Limit: Fresher applicants (General) not more than 35 years as calculated on 1st July, 2018. It is 37 years for Fresher SC/ST and PH applicants. There is no age limit for deputed candidates.


Important guidelines for eligibility and Online Form Fill-up:


1. All Candidates (both deputed and fresher) who have not passed taking the college offered pedagogic subject (see the List of offered Subjects) at Honours or P.G. Level may apply as pass/ general graduates if they have any one of those pedagogic Subject as a combination or optional subject at under graduation level. In such cases, P.G. degrees of fresher candidates will not be considered for scoring and these Fresher candidates are requested not to enter the P.G. percentage in academic credentials part of the Form. Academic Scoring (scoring pattern is listed below) is implied to Fresher candidates only. selection of Deputed candidates for admission will be made on service seniority only, in such cases, service seniority will be counted till the 1st day of July, 2018.


2. In case of University-wise reservation policy, here the applicants of all Universities in India and abroad will be treated equally.


3. Applicants belonging to SC, ST categories other than West Bengal will be treated as General.


4. A short Merit List as per vacancy of seats will be published at college official website (www.banipurbedcollege.org) and College office Notice Board for counselling in due course.


5. Candidates who will report at the time of counselling within the stipulated reporting time (within 12.15 pm) will only be considered for selection according to their academic scores (for Fresher) or service seniority (for deputed) as per vacant seats. Candidates appearing after 12.15 p.m. will not be entertained for reporting under any circumstances.


6. All testimonials in original (i.e. all mark sheets and certificates) with one set of self-attested photocopies, hard copy (print-out) of the online filled-up Application Form & Print out of online payment slip and two passport size photographs must be produced at the time of counselling for verification. In-case of non-submission of original certificates/mark sheets, provisional certificates/mark sheets, may be allowed if they are produced within a month from the date of admission of the said course, otherwise his/her candidature may liable to be cancelled.


7. Applicants do not need to send any hard copy of the online filled-up Form to college office (Print out of the Form) before counselling.


8. Deputed candidates will have to submit their original M.C. resolution duly countersigned by the D.I. / ADI. Service appointment letter, Joining report & approval report by the D.I. (with one set of Xerox copy) and teaching experience certificate mentioning the classes presently teaching (from class IX to XII), issued by the H.M./ Teacher-in-Charge must be produced at the time of counselling.


9. Entry of valid mobile number of the applicant at the time of online form fill-up is mandatory.


10. SMS alert will be sent to the mobile to inform the candidates for their every correspondence.


11. Candidates are advised to preserve the hard copy of the online filled-up application form (i.e. the Print out of the Application Form) and Print of online payment slip for further correspondence at the time of counselling and admission.


12. Reservation of seats for Persons with Disabilities i. e. PWD: The minimum disability is 40%, which will be considered for reservation. [N.B. Less than 40% of disability may be treated as General.]


13. It is to note that 40% of the admission fees will be refunded to a candidate if he/she will vacate (cancellation of admission) the seat within 30th June, 2018 and 10% of the Fees will be refunded if a candidate discontinues studies in mid way of session within 31st July, 2018.


14. All the stipulated dates & time may be changed at any circumstances and the college authority deserves the rights not to mention the reason thereof.


15. Candidates called for counselling can’t be conferred the assurance for admission if any anomalies detected during the course of on line admission or even after the completion of the whole admission process.


16. In case of wrong inputs or false information provided by the candidates at any stage of online procedure; the college authority (after making payment) will not be responsible for arranging any correction.

Payment of Both Application Fees and Admission Fees will be accepted through “Bill Desk” in online gateway mode.

After completion of filling-up online Application Form, the applicants have to go “Save & Continue” option for verifying the filled-up Form shown; thereafter go to ‘Payment’ option to reach “Bill Desk” (automatic generated portal) for payment according to choice through online mode only.

  • Following Pedagogic (Method) Subjects will be offered: One Method Subject has to be selected.

Types of Merit-Lists for Admission in B.Ed., 2018-2020:

  • Deputed candidates’ admission shall be made on according to service seniority.
  • Fresher candidates’ admission shall be made on the basis of merit. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the score calculating rules. (see below)

Instructions For Filling Up Academic Qualification Details:

1. For H.S. (under WBCHSE or CBSE class XII or ISC Class XII or equivalent level), percentage of marks obtained in any best of five subjects is required to enter (inclusion of two subjects of language group is not mandatory).For old H.S. syllabus 1000 marks will be calculated.

2. Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Technology (B.Tech.) with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to enter the percentage of marks of B.E/ B. Tech. in the row of Honours Degree. Percentage of marks of M.E. / M. Tech. result (if any) will not be entered in the Master’s Degree row.

3. Honours Graduates should enter the Percentage of marks of Honours subjects only in the row of Bachelor’s degree (Honours).

4. In case of 2 years Pass graduates or 3 Years General Graduates, the percentage of total marks obtained in general subjects should be entered in the row of Bachelor’s degree (Pass/General).

5. U.G. candidates having < 50% in Honours but percentage of Honours and including pass/General subjects’ (in addition of both Hons. & Pass/General Subjects) is ≥ 50%, will be considered for scoring as Pass/General candidates and should enter the percentage of marks in ‘B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. pass/General’ row.

6. P.G. candidates having Honours percentage < 50%, but P.G. percentage is 50% have to enter the Hons. Percentage at Honours row, but no entry at ‘Pass/General’ row and enter the P.G. percentage at P.G. row.
